MENTORING:
THE GIFT OF INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL
Did you know that Mentor was the name of the teacher of
Odyseus in Homer's Oddesy?
Even a mythical Greek hero needs some one to lean on once in a while.
If you've ever been between a rock and a hard place, you know the value of a
mentor... someone who has been there before, who can help guide you, and who has an honest
interest in helping you succeed.
Mentoring is all about building a relationship of trust and openness -- two
important and rare elements in the business world. To be true to the spirit of the
original Mentor, mentors should make a concerted effort to be honest, available, and
reliable.
Mentoring often comes with no strings attached. But when done right, turns into a
win-win relationship that holds important beneifits to both parties.
Get involved in mentoring today. For more information, follow the links to
mentoring programs on the right, or drop me a line.

NEED A
HELPING HAND?
Each year, David Worrell works with a limited number of
entrepreneurs who want to launch or grow their businesses more quickly. David brings
a wealth of experience and skill to entrepreneurs and executive teams that are wrestling
with corporate finance issues such as:
- Corporate Finance
plans or funding
plans, including sourcing funds, creating cap tables, balance sheets, and investor return
scenarios.
- Representation
to funding sources, including banks, angels, or VC, including introductions,
presentations, negotiations and due diligence.
- Strategic thinking around their
basic (or new) business model and value proposition vis-a-vis competition and market
need.
- Documentation,
including formal financial projections, clear business plans, concise investor
presentations, and compelling PPMs.
- Sick company diagnostics, including a "forensic" review
of how the company can improve profitability, cut losses, and understand who are its most
profitable customers (existing and new).
David
accepts a small number of new assignments each year. If you would like to be
considered, please email a brief discription of your industry, company, and current challenges.
Executive summaries are encouraged, but please do not send a full business plan.
